(Beijing, April 17) In the women's skeet final of the "Good Luck Beijing" ISSF World Cup held this afternoon, China's Wei Ning claimed a comfortable win with a score of 97 hits, while her veteran teammate Zhang Shan finished fifth with 92.

After the single-target shoot-off Diana Bacosi of Italy, Haley Dunn of the US and Nathalie Larsson of Sweden, who had achieved the identical total score of 94, placed second, third and fourth respectively.

Having leading the qualifications with 72 this morning, Wei Ning maintained her form in the final, hitting all targets on her weakest Position 4, which was greeted with an outburst of cheers. By her near-perfect performance Wei had sealed the victory even before her last-position shooting. She eventually came out on top with 3 hits ahead of the runner-up.

China's veteran markswoman Zhang Shan, second after the qualifications, missed both targets on Position 4 in the final and had to settle for the fifth place with 92 hits. Chiara Cainero of Italy was sixth with 91.
