Russia finish 1-2 in m. double trap qualification

(Beijing, April 15) Russian Vasily Mosin dominated the men's double trap qualifciation round of the "Good Luck Beijing" ISSF World Cup this afternoon with his teammate Mikhail Leybo standing second. Neither Athens Olympic winner Ahmed Almaktoum of the United Arab Emirates nor China's veteran Hu Binyuan qualified for the final.

Russia's duo Vasily Mosin and Mikhail Leybo finished one-two on 145 and 141 hits respectively. Great Britain's Richard Faulds was third with 141.

Hu Binyuan, last year's World Championships runner-up, boasted 48 in the first round but was shoved into the 17th place with 137 after the next two rounds (44, 45). His compatriot Wang Nan, Asiad champion and Olympic hopeful, stood 15th, also with 137.

Athens Olympic gold medalist Ahmed Almaktoum hit only 134 to rank 25th and 2004 Olympic runner-up Singh Rajyavardhan Rathore of India didn't make it to the final either.

From the fourth to sixth were Saif Alshamsy of the UAE (140) and Americans Walton Eller (140) and Joshua Richmond (139).
