(Beijing, April 14) In the third-day competitions of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 ISSF World Cup, China won its first gold in the men's 10m air rifle as Zhu Qinan rallied from 5th in the qualification round to outscore American Matthew Emmons 700.8-700.7 in the final to win the title.

"I was nervous, really nervous," Zhu said when he recalled the scenes in the final.

"The first five shots were not good but the following shots were OK," was his comments on his own performance. "I think nothing is impossible during a competition and everyone in the final has the chance to win the title, whether leading or trailing, 1 or 2 points."

"I tried hard to adapt myself to the Olympic venue and to get the feeling of competing on home soil. After the qualifications in the morning throughout the final in the afternoon I felt exhausted and all I could do was to keep telling myself to stick it out," he said.

Talking about the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games, Zhu said he and his teammates would do their very best to get well prepared for the Games.
