

(Beijing, April 14) With a score of 599 points Hungary's Peter Sidi led the men's 10m air rifle qualifications of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 ISSF World Cup this afternoon, followed by US veteran Matthew Emmons (599), Gagan Naranga of Inida (597) and Stevan Pletikosic of Slovak (597).
China's Zhu Qinan finished fifth, also with 597, following Serbia's Nemanja Mirosavljev (597).
The other two Chinese shooters, Liu Tianyou and Cao Yifei, who had just joined China's Olympic team last month, failed to bring out their best and dropped out of the finals with 595 and 594 respectively.
Konstantin Prikhodtchenko and Denis Sokolov, both from Russia, finished seventh and eighth respectively with the identical score of 596.
A number of elite marksmen were stopped in today's qualifications, including the reigning European champion Are Hansen of Norway and Athens Olympic bronze medalist Jozef Gonci of Slovak.
