(Beijing, April 13) The Day Two competitions of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 ISSF World Cup concluded this afternoon as Mario Filipovic of Slovak won the men's trap final and Franck Dumoulin of France claimed the men's 10m air pistol gold.

In the men's 10m air pistol qualification, China's Olympic hopefuls Tan Zongliang and World Championships winner Pang Wei managed 11th and 15th respectively. Their teammate Shi Xinglong scored 584 to be the only Chinese entering the final.

In the final, 34-year-old Frenchman Franck Dumoulin, Sydney Olympic gold medalist, scored 683.7 points to secure the title. Vladimir Gontcharov of Russia once led the finalists in the first few shots but his No.1 dream was tattered by a disappointing eighth shot of 6.4. The Russian finally placed second with 682.2. Kim Jongsu of the DPR Korea, sixth in the qualification round with 583, made 682.0 to take the bronze medal.

China's Shi Xinglong moved to the third in the final at one time but got only 8.7 in the eighth final shot, which led to his fifth place with 681.5 in the end.

In the men's trap final, Mario Filipovic of Slovak pocketed the gold medal with a result of 142, while Athens Olympic champion Alexey Alipov of Russia outscored American Bret Erickson and Croatian Josip Glasnovic in single-target shoot-off to earn the silver. Bret Erickson ranked third.

The three Chinese trap shooters, Li Yajun, Li Yang and Zhang Bing, were eliminated early in the qualification round.
