(Beijing April 13) Olegario Vazquez Rana, President of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF), said he was satisfied with the "Good Luck Beijing" shooting test event, adding "the venue can already serve the Olympic Games."
Rana made the remarks at a press conference of the ongoing 2008 ISSF World Cup today. After two days of inspection of the venue and its supporting facilities, Rana found "the Chinese are very friendly and the volunteers always have a smile on their faces."
"I think people here are well prepared to embrace the Olympics and the venue can already serve the Olympic Games," he commented.
Horst G. Schrelber, ISSF Secretary General, seemed to have the same feeling. "The venue is pretty new and everything is in good order," he said. "We saw some workers still installing the equipment before the opening of the event, but all was set when the competitions began. Although something still remain to be adjusted, I'm very satisfied in general."
